Beeps Pick:  Cruel Intentions



Why I chose this film:  OMG... can you say sexy?  I remember loving this movie.  When Apes told me that she had never seen it, I KNEW it would have to get into our rotation.

Beeps:  Why in god's name do I keep doing this to myself?  Prior to this viewing, I would have classified this as one of my top 10 all time movies.  Sadly, now it has been reduced to a better than average film.  The story has been told in other movies, Valmont and the even more famous Dangerous Liasons.  However, this movie puts a young, hip, and modern spin on the classic tale of incestuous love, and the corruption of innocence.  If you're a fan of other films that put modern spins on classic tales, this is definitely worthy of watching.  If you're looking for a lustful tale that will keep you interested for an hour and a half, I say go for it.  One thing I found interesting is for its rampant sexuality, there isn't any full nudity in this film, except maybe a bare ass.  3 1/2 stars.

Apes: Poor rich people with crazy sex drives messing up the lives of other rich people. Its hard to have sympathy or relate to these characters. Maybe I'm just in a bitchy mood, but overall I thought this movie was just good, but I didn't care about the characters. The movie was sort of a train wreck you can't help but watch because you want to know what happens. This movie is practically porn with no nudity. I wouldn't watch this movie again, but I'm glad I did so I can say I've had the experience. I give this film 3 stars.
